2025 Virginia Governor's Cup Gold Medal Winner!
Petit Manseng, which is one of the higher acid varieties that we produce in Virginia, is a natural fit to age in an egg-shaped concrete tank. Concrete is porous like oak, which allows small amounts of oxygen in to help soften the acidity. While it is like oak in its oxygen transfer, it differs because it imparts no wood flavor on the wine, keeping it fresh and fruit. This also adds a gracious amount of weight from the lees stirring that happens due to the egg shape. This is a full-bodied white with aromatic notes of pineapple and jackfruit, followed by ripe pineapple and finishing with a honeyed floral white tea component.
